What is this all about? "We're about making a difference in careers and community" * This is about establishing a Leadership network that provides support for every BHS player to "make a difference"; to make a successful transition from School to Career and Community contribution. * It is about launching the player to be "better than the best they think they can be" by having a network of "life teammates". * It is about having "safe", private conversations that matter to the player (it is about them and their particular path).
* Every BHS Football player, beginning with the seniors, will be matched up with 2 Mentors: One will be a recent grad and the other will be an established career professional from the Bellevue community. * The Mentors will have conversations about what it means to the player to be: * To get started, there will be at least 1 conversation between the recent grad and 1 conversation between the player and the career professional. After those we will "huddle up" and decide where to focus our efforts. * They will then initiate the conversations/meeting (most probably meet at the school and then take a "walk-n-talk", or Starbucks, or something simple). 30-45 minutes ought to cover the initial conversations. Plan to have the conversations by mid-August if possible * After the meeting, they will send an e-mail to Mick and Bill with some recommendations on who might be a good 2nd Mentor for their particular player. (If someone obvious comes to mind, please recruit them).
